Let your toddler's creativity roam as they play with clay! This workshop allows them to create something by hand while expanding fine motor skills and cognitive development. Assist your Toddler in making an item, while also guided by our expert Instructor. With only 4 toddlers per class, you and your loved one will get lots of one on one attention.
Weeks 1-3 your Tot may play with the clay, and develop a project, which in Week 4 underglaze may be applied. We will then fire and glaze your items for you. You also get to create a project! Tools, clay, & firing of 2 small objects included in the Course fee.

Beginner Class: Beginners will learn the ancient art of wheel throwing on the Potter's Wheel. Basic skills are established, including wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Focus is centered on beautiful and thoughtful making. How can you efficiently and effortlessly throw pottery? You will learn in this class, with only 7 other peers to ensure one on one instruction and expedite the learning curve.
All Courses include clay & firing costs, tools provided in class.

Check in with the Instructor immediately upon arrival and wash your hands immediately after check in. If you can, please avoid bringing anything unnecessary into the studio. There is medical grade disinfectant available in the clear bottles with the grey nozzle, and our logo on them. This is safe to be used on your skin (on anything you may be touching.) It is recommended that all Studio tools & equipment are sanitized prior to use. The doors and windows may be kept open through the class to improve air circulation as necessary. Entering the studio with ANY type of illness is unacceptable and you will be asked to leave.

Introduce your child to the exciting world of pottery in this hands-on Youth Pottery Class in Vancouver! Perfect for beginners, this class teaches kids the ancient art of wheel throwing on the potter’s wheel in a supportive and creative environment. Designed for ages 10-16, students will learn essential pottery techniques like wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing while fostering creativity and self-expression.
With a small class size of just 8 students, each child receives one-on-one instruction to confidently master the basics of pottery and explore their artistic potential.
After the class, kids' projects will be fired and glazed by our team. For added creativity, you can also book a "Paint Your Pottery" session to personalize items with underglaze designs.

For this Introduction to Hand Building Workshop, you’ll be given 3 lbs of clay to explore, experiment and create with. Throughout the workshop you will be shown techniques you can choose to use to create a personalized work to have finished by the Community Clay team.
With the clay you’re given, you can choose to make one object or the equivalent of two 1 lb objects with no additional charge beyond the cost of the workshop. For extra pieces, you'll be charged based on size/number of extra pieces.
Any additional pieces created are subject to additional charges dependant on the size of the object to accommodate for the use of glazing materials, the labour of love that goes into finishing and trimming the work for you by the Community Clay team as well as the space taken in the kiln for the multiple firings.
