Community Clay offers professional bisque and glaze firing services in Vancouver, BC, for hobbyists, artists, educators, and students. Whether you're creating as a passion project or producing a professional collection, we provide high-quality firing services at cost—we do not mark up firing to profit from artists.

What We Offer
Clay
A wide range of colours and textures for wheel throwing and handbuilding. Clay must be purchased from us to be fired in our kilns.

Essential tools for wheel throwing and handbuilding. These are the tools our owner, Gabrielle, has used for over 21 years in production—you likely don’t need anything beyond this.

Bisque Firing
Fire greenware to cone 04 (cone 06 available upon request). Items may be stacked to reduce cost.

Glazing
Use our glazes during a Glaze Workshop (additional fee), or email with commercial glaze options. Test tiles are required to ensure compatibility with our kilns.

Flexible Firing Options
Fire individual pieces or batches. Pricing is based on size and kiln space used. For larger items or kiln rentals please email with information on what you'd like to fire.
How It Works
Drop-Off
Bring your pieces to the studio during your Drop-Off Appointment.
Firing
Items are carefully loaded and fired according to your specifications.
Pick-Up
You will receive an email when your items are ready (typically 5–10 business days).
If you cannot collect your work personally, you may arrange Work Collection.
This service must be paid for in advance $10-20 and is charged per box (maximum 15 items per box). Please email photos of your pieces, and once they’re ready, you’ll receive a booking link for pick-up.
Important Notes
Clay & Glaze Compatibility
All pieces must be compatible with cone 6 firing. Clay must be purchased from us.
Breakage Disclaimer
While all items are handled with care, ceramics are unpredictable. We are not responsible for cracking, warping, or damage during firing.
Pick-Up Policy
Items must be collected within 2 weeks of notification. Unclaimed items will be donated or recycled.
Communication & Admin
To keep firing services accessible and efficient, communication is limited to essential information. If additional support, detailed consultation, or extended back-and-forth is required, administrative fees apply.
